Palsin

   Jméno Palsin vzniklo zkrácením latinského názvu *Palmosinistra, "Levá Dlaň".

   Někteří lingvisté však zastávají názor, že jméno Palsin je odvozeno od prakveňského kořene pel(es) a příbuzné s st.nold. pele (pl. pelesi, peleki) "týn", ohrazená oblast. Nold. pel, pl. peli. Kveň. peler; opele ohrazený dům nebo vesnice, "město"; nold. gobel.
   {Some linguists however hold the view that the name Palsin is derived from Proto-Quenya root pel(es) and cognate with ONold. pele (pl. pelesi, peleki) [Old English] "tu:n", fenced field. Nold. pel, pl. peli. Q. peler; opele walled house or village, "town"; Nold. gobel.}
   Nevěřící nazývají dolní část země Plužina nebo Medvědina a horní část Plazina nebo Dračina, podobně jako souhvězdí Pravá dlaň (Palmo Dextra, PDe) podle nich leží částečně v souhvězdí Malý medvěd (Ursus Minor, UMi), nazývaného též Malý pluh, a částečně v souhvězdí Draka (Ursus Minor, UMi), nazývaného též Plaz.
   {The unbelievers call the lower part of the land Ploughia or Bearia and the upper part of the land Reptilia or Draconia, likewise the constelatin Right Hand (Palmo Dextra, PDe}lies acording of them partly in the constelation Little Bear (Ursus Minor, UMi), called also the Little Plough, and partly in the constelation Dracon (Draco, Dra), called also the Reptile.
   Palsin se dříve nazývala Mlžina. Na SV s ní sousedila Dolní Divočina, na V Vnitřní Divočina a na JV Bohatina. Spolu s nimi a s dalšími třemi zeměmi byla částí oblasti zvaného Divočina.
   {Palsin was formerly called Mistland. Its NE neighbour was Lower Wildland, its E neighbour Inner Wildland, its SE neighbour Richland. Together with them and with another three lands it was a part of the region called Wildland.}
   Řekové nazývali tuto zemi Chiropotamie, "Rukoříčí".
   {The Greeks called this land Chiropotamia, "Handriveria".}

   Štít dělený, v horním modrém poli stříbrná dlaň s palcem vpravo a s prsty vzhůru, v dolním zlatém poli modrá dlaň s palcem vpravo a s prsty dolů.
   {In the upper blue field (azure) a silver palm (argent) with the thumb to right and with the fingers up, in the lower gold field (or) a blue palm (azure) with the thumb to right and with the fingers down}

Vlajka {flag}:

   Horní čtvrtina bílá, střední polovina modrá, spodní čtvrtina žlutá.
